About
I’m an artist+illustrator born and raised in Tennessee and living in San Francisco, Ca. The wild nature I was surrounded by while growing up in Tennessee is an ever present source of inspiration and I refer to the forests, towns, homes and cities I visit and grew up among in my work. My early interest in all things visual and the internet led me to study graphic design and fine art, and eventually to move to San Francisco and work in both digital and print design and illustration.
I examine and explore the space between first person experience and folk tale, the ideas and attachments of home, and the notion of nostalgia. I am interested in how it is often difficult to tell the difference between actual history and folk tale mythology. A sound, a story or a smell can be a form of travel and I explore this in the work that I do. I love hand drawn lettering, repeat patterns, characters and color and all of these are present in my work in some combination.
I have extensive experience working both in house on branding and design as well as working on a remote freelance basis.
I license my illustration, artworks, prints & patterns or sell them outright to national and international companies and manufacturers and smaller companies and boutiques alike.
My focus in general is illustration, lettering, surface pattern design and branding work. I’ve been told by my clients that my work has helped them to achieve greater recognition in their particular sphere, and has helped to strengthen and add interest to their brand. If you have an illustration, lettering, branding or creative strategy need, I’d love to work with you to make your product or identity sing.
