New Floral Pattern: Watercolor Flowers

I love vintage design and style so much. I was in an old antebellum house in the garden district of New Orleans not so long ago [but lets face it, any time away from New Orleans is way too long. That place is magic.] and the entry way walls were hand painted by a woman named Vera Reinike. Her wispy, muted yet colorful work reminded me of so many of the patterns found on dresses of the 1940s and 1950s. Washy, free and dreamy. I did this pattern just after that trip to New Orleans and am still pondering on some coordinates and creatures that I want to add to it© rachael schafer
