NYC, Surtex and a new almost-daily portrait
I spent three busy but blissful days last week in New York City, meeting lots of fantastic people at Surtex, meeting my wonderful agents face to face and making some exciting new potential working relationships happen. It was such a whirlwind of creativity, making friends with people I've known online for coming up on two years, and illustration talk that I've spent the past few days processing it all. A bonus was that we stayed in Chelsea and I walked the highline aka 'magical oasis in the city' to the Javitz center. I'll spend next week following up on some of the chats I had with some companies that I would be over the moon to work with, and getting some new work started. One new friend I made, Susan...fascinated me with tales of her old New York, high society friend Daphne Hellman, so much that I had to make her the focus for my next [non-consecutive] '100 days of portraits' portrait.
