Summer into Fall
This summer has flown by and has been a time of change in the midst of taking a bit of a pause to reflect on it all. We spent a month in Tennessee, my summertime happy place. Growing up, I never realized how much I took the hum of the night creatures for granted. I also had no idea that this would be so rare / non-existent in other places. San Francisco is great in a lot of ways, but I do miss that warm evening hum of the south where the very air you breathe seems alive. While at camp in Yosemite last week, I read Blood, Bones and Butter, and this is probably why I was inspired to do a sort of self portrait as a camp chef. Not exactly me but not *not* me either.
